Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist - Per Diem - San Fernando Valley, CA

nourilife is currently seeking a per diem Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist to join our growing team. We welcome new grads, and will provide training for well-qualified candidates.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Evaluate the Medical Nutrition Therapy needs of the facility residents and implement appropriate interventions to improve their nutritional status

  • Coordinate resident care with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT)

  • Participate in care conferences together with the facility Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) members to provide nutrition-related updates to residents and/or family members

  • Coordinate with the facility Dietary Services Supervisor/Manager to review, and customization of the regular and therapeutic menus

  • Conduct audits and interviews staff and residents to ensure residents are receiving foods in the amount, type, consistency, and frequency required to maintain or improve nutritional status

  • Routinely inspect the food service area(s) and practices for compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations

  • Participates in CMS surveys as needed

  • Provide in-service training to Nursing and Dietary staff on topics related to Nutrition and Food Service as needed

Minimum qualifications and requirements:

  • Possession of current valid registration as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline

  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with amazing attention to detail and follow through

  • Ability to work flexible schedules

  • Ability to work independently

  • Evidence of reliability, flexibility, and professionalism

  • Resourceful and adaptable to changing environments

  • Strong analytical and computer skills

  • Knowledgeable of State and Federal regulations and familiarity with state survey process and compliance to nutrition care regulations

  • Experience with electronic charting preferred

  • Experience in long-term care and skilled nursing care setting preferred
